Novellus Properties are delighted to announce the appointment and commencement of an exciting full-scale transformation project of a 1930s 3 bed semi-detached property in the thriving Heaton Mersey area in Stockport.
The ambition for the full-scale transformation project will take this tired-looking Victorian property which has barely had any home improvements since the 1970s to an attractive, modern, open-plan living accommodation suited mostly to a professional family to rent.
Our team have wasted no time and initiated the renovation process on the very same day as getting the keys!

Vision for Transformation
Key highlights include:
- Open Plan Kitchen Diner: on the ground floor, we are removing the internal load-bearing wall separating the current kitchen and diner. This modern layout will not only enhance the functionality of the kitchen space but also provide a perfect setting for relaxing or entertaining guests.
- 3 Piece Bathroom Suite: we are replacing the current dated bathroom suite (including a walk-in shower) with a brand new fully tiled 3 piece suite, including a plumbed-in shower over the bath to enhance the space.
- Outdoor Driveway and Garden: advancing from the extensive interior renovations, we are removing the old (pre 1950s!) car port and widening the driveway entrance to enable 2 cars to comfortably fit on the drive. Furthermore, we’re undertaking an extensive garden clean-up to remove small bushes and trees to really open up the potential of the garden space to the side and rear of the property.
We’ve sat down and agreed a timescale and budget for the entire project which the landlord is happy with. We are excited to deliver fantastic results for them and allow this beautiful semi-detached property to achieve its full potential in terms of value and thrive on the rental market for over £1,600 pcm!
Update on Renovation Works
Following 4 weeks / 30 days of focus, we’ve managed to complete the rip out phase (ourselves) to go “back to brick”, notified the local council of the load-bearing wall removal against structural report guidance, and are in the process of removing the wall. Furthermore, the bathroom suite is currently being fitted as well as the entire property’s electrics being re-wired. Here are some photo updates:
Completion
Following 16 weeks / 112 days of extensive property renovation, we’re excited to announce that we have completed the renovation. Coming in slightly under budget, we’ve secured a revaluation on the property and have managed to add an exciting c.£70,000 value to it for our client is such a short space of time!
