Renovation Spotlight: 3 Bed Mews Property in South Reddish, Stockport

Novellus Properties are delighted to announce the appointment and commencement of an exciting renovation project of a 1970s 3 bed mews property in the thriving South Reddish area in Stockport.
The property has been recently acquired, and the landlord’s aspirations are to complete a light-touch renovation to brighten it up and get it back on the market to let ASAP. With this project, time really is of the essence to avoid an extensive void period and costs to the landlord.
Our team have wasted no time and initiated the renovation process on the very same day as getting the keys!

- Dated, ripped flooring throughout
- Very dark decor throughout
- Various internal issues which require repair
Vision for Refurb
Key highlights include:
- Re-Decoration Throughout: every room in the property has dated artex wallpaper and the rooms appear to be very dark, with limited natural light coming in. We’ve chosen a light colour to re-decorate the entire house in to really brighten it up.
- Re-Carpet Throughout: the carpet which exists is dated and is ripped in places. To compliment the re-decoration, we’ll be re-carpeting the entire upstairs of the property and replacing the kitchen flooring too.
- Various Internal Repairs: we’ve found there are various repairs needed, such as within the built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom and most of the internal door handles are loose. Furthermore, various electrical sockets and switches are either broken or loose and require fixing, luckily, we can do this ourselves to save the landlord some money!
As previously mentioned, the key to this refurb is to complete it as quickly as possible. We’ve therefore agreed on budget and set expectations around a 6-week turnaround to complete the refurbishment and get this property onto the rental market!
Completion
Following 5 weeks / 33 days of refurbishment works, the property is ready to go onto the rental market, hoping to achieve a minimum of £1,100 pcm.

We were able to complete this refurb under budget, and pride ourselves on the uniqueness of us being able to undertake most of the general repair tasks ourselves, helping to reduce the cost to our client.
